Education has Changed. A little or A Lot?

Essential Question: What examples from your years as a student are different from a student's from the early 1900's? What's still the same?
-From my years as a student the effectiveness of education has changed since the 1900's. There are different standards, ways of discipline, and most importantly education has grew into every culture.

Song/Rap/Rhyming Poem:
Effectiveness, Discipline, Cruel.
Hurt, Tears, Run.
Unequal, Unfair, Racist.
Horrible, Bad, Done.
Education, 1900's.

Four Passages, keywords or key ideas from the text:
1)"African Americans were mostly excluded from public secondary education." Pg. 284 (1)

2)"Unlike African Americas, immigrants were encouraged to go to school." Pg. 284 (2)

3)"The pattern in public education in this era was one of growth, opportunity differed sharply for white and black students." Pg. 283 (4)

4)"Strict rules and physical punishment made many students miserable." Pg. 283 (1)

How the rhyme relates to the essential question:
-My rhyme relates to the essential question because it reveals that the way education was ran during the 1900's. Education in the 1900's was much different than today because they were mistreated and education was held to a different level. Today people are more respectful of those who reach for education and give them a fair share to reach their hopes and dreams.
